He's devilishly handsome with skin as a tilapia’s. When he walks by dem gurls, they spontaneously exchange whispers of admiration. Others are uncontrollably lost in thought and lust, wishing he would be theirs just for a night. The ladies who are constantly in his company are revered. The dude's fine and sexy and fortunately, he knows it – no be him fault. And because of the attention he receives, he spends his days with women of different shapes and sizes. As soon as he's done with one, there is another waiting to take over as if they run shift on him. They cook for him, buy him gifts and even satisfy his basic instincts by seduction or will. Kini big deal? sebi sebi the guy's cute. Besides, if she gives him good sex, she could be “the one” and snatch him from the wolves in woman's clothing always stalking him. Greedily, the dude eats everything he’s given after all “awuf no dey run belle”.
Initially, girls are cool with the competition, putting up with the dude’s many admirers like they just wants to be a friend. They all know that women who come to men with baptism of jealousy have lost already. And so a girl pretends and forces a smile when Jane calls or when the dude takes Cynthia out for dinner but how long does she put up with this? The answer is obvious. Suddenly, she wants him all for herself and incidentally Jenifer wants the same at the same time. Each girl takes a step further to secure her territory. So, when Sandra meets Cynthia or Jenifer at the dude's house, they exchange insulting looks that send acidic messages. Laughable yet pathetic thoughts usually in questions such as, wetin you dey find for my man house? You no dey sidon for your own house? Why women no dey mind their business? Or they could even flaw other girl’s height and weight, legs, backside, eyeballs just to discredit the other. One can suddenly fall sick just by listening to these thoughts. Lol. Unfortunately the thoughts come from both angles – no woman who wants a man at all cost can be a saint in her thought. Because thought produces action, soon verbal grievances are introduced until one day his room becomes a battle field. The dude's even cool with it. No be small thing for fine girls to fight over person o! Sheer balderdash!
This story doesn’t happen in the movies alone. It’s everywhere and maybe it’s your problem as you read this too. You don’t have to be sexily handsome like Denzel Washington. Your brains, talents and wealth could be a connection point too. Fine girls are all around you like ants around sugar. Your friends have even hailed you in the men's round-table and you felt like a king for rocking the finest girls around. As a matter of fact, the gurls have brought you lotta admiration and you are glad to be called the “ladies man”. What are the disadvantages of being a ladies man?
This list I have carefully and objectively researched through observation, interviews, polls and so my opinion is sort of balanced. I have experiences too. A ladies man experiences the following…
1. He attracts unnecessary hatred: A lady invests where she hopes to reap. If she buys you gifts or give you her body in numerous passionate moments, she hopes that one day you'd get serious with here or proudly walk her down the aisle. Don't make the mistake of thinking that what she gives are favours your fine face, brain or talent brings. She aint insane. If she hates you, curses you and takes your name to a “babalawo” when you reject her, she is not to be blamed. Of course hell knows no fury than a woman scorned.
2. he's opened to sexual temptation: a girl who desires a guy who’s in the spotlight can use seduction. If her gifts don't get your attention, her body should. I don't blame her because “na wetin she want she wan get”. If you enjoy her body for the fun of it, you are exposing yourself to more danger. She'd be justified if she pleads her case at any quarter. Even Denzel Washington maintains a splendid home. Taking advantage of women because you are fine, rich or skilled is wickedness. You would never endorse it if another man treats your sister thus. Why do it to another?
3. Guys and other ladies would not treat to him nicely: my case was very funny in retrospect. Some of my classmates in my University days ganged up against me because of a lady who snobs everyone in my department but me. Their envy blinded them to the conclusion that I was responsible and to stop it, gang-beating me was the option they came up with. It was a miracle that the plan never saw the break of dawn. If you get the attention of every beautiful gurl in your School, office, Church, club etc, don't expect the goodwill of other men who are interested in these girls. Never ever expect that. Also, the ladies who like you and couldn't get your attention will hate you. People will fly untrue stories about you to dent your image. Be ready for all these and more.
4. He sets aflame the fire of hatred: one of the sights I have total contempt for is of two matured adults exchanging blows because of a guy who hardly notices. Though the act is foolishness to many including myself, someone originated it and I think he is more foolish. A lady rarely exchanges insult and blows if a guy didn't raise her hopes or give her the impression that he's hers or would be hers. In other word, the guy might have given two ladies hope in words or action that someday he'll walk them down the aisle. Is it wrong if they try to protect what they've got? As for me, I am not against their protection but their approach.
It's time to review the effect of your action on others and your future before you venture. An adage in the Yoruba parlance states: “don't take what you do not intend to eat closer to your nose.” What is the use of keeping numerous ladies closely when you just need one per time? I do not condemn you for having female friend or enjoy a degree of friendship with them. If that's what I meant, I would be as guilty as hell because I have good relationship with lotta females. But the level of closeness where you take advantage of naïve woman is not only unnecessary but brutal and catastrophic.
I know it's not your fault to be created as sweet as this and I am aware of all your excuses lurking in your heart. You may want to complain that you didn't invite them and then disposing them would be irrational. I absolutely agree. But I will ask you three test questions and see what you score.
1. What do you do or say when you meet women? ladies are creatures of pride and hardly jump on a guy without a signal from him that shows that they are needed beyond the ordinary. I don’t refer to courtesy. I mean eye contact. touch, tone of voice and kinda of words etc.
2. What do you do when they are around? ladies read actions faster than mere words. Simple eye contact and holding of hands explains a lot to a woman. The kind of cards and gifts you buy may say-it-all even when you haven't said a word. Most recently, text messages can say “I love you” when you really don't.
3. How emotionally involved are you? You've started touching her sensitive angles yet you've not said anything. You may not even need to say anything again because those gestures speak better things than words. Except a prostitute, a lady thinks a guy is in love when he touches her body but a guy does not need to be in love to be sexually attracted to a girl. Don't wonder why she tells people you're her guy. That singular act is enough to make her conclude.
What did you score? If you are innocent after answering these question then, you are free to go ahead but if you are guilty, something must be done immediately and that is, define and decide how far you go with a girl if you aint ready to be serious. It will give you peace of mind and peace with men.
